How do I code my meter? 

The Oracle® meter has a state of the art Autocode®  feature so coding is not necessary.
If you don’t know what coding is, then Oracle®  means you don’t have to think about it.

Is the meter easy to use? 

The Oracle® meter is designed to be as simple to use as possible.
It has a large screen and turns on and off automatically when strips are inserted or removed. 

Can I turn off the voice function? 

The voice function can be turned off by adjusting the volume to zero.
This is done by using the set button underneath the battery cover.
Press the set button repeatedly until reaching the volume then press the M button on the front to advance the volume.
Volume level 9 is the loudest and volume zero is off. 

How much does the meter cost?

The meter is free with purchase of 100 test strips. 

Can the monitor be used by a blind person? 

It depends on the person.
Many people with significant visual impairments are using the meter independently.
Assistance is typically required for setup and for accessing the memory function. 

Can I have the monitor repeat the reading I just took? 

No the meter only says the reading one time. 


Do I have to do a re-set up of the monitor when I change batteries?

  No. 

What size batteries does the monitor take?

  The Oracle®  requires 2 AAA 1.5 volt batteries. 

How do I correctly insert the test strips? 

The grey flat side is face up and the green flat side with an “X” is face down.
The black electrode is inserted into the monitor.
When inserted correctly you will hear music. 

Why does my test come out differently than on another monitor?

The Oracle®  meter uses the best technology available.
The correct way to see if your meter is working properly is to check with control solution and see if the result is in the range printed on the strip vial.
An alternative is to compare a result form your meter with a result obtained from a laboratory venous sample. 

How long can I use the strips after opening a vial? 

Oracle®  Test Strips are good for 90 days after opening the vial.

Can I use other brand strips in my Oracle®

Oracle®  test strips have special functions which are specifically designed to work with the Oracle®  meter.
The meter will only work with Oracle®  test strips.
